  1. Off topic but we also never hear about any official report about the MasWing Twin Otter incident at Kudat. That was more than a year now I think. They did say a report will be released.
  2. Ok Waiping thanks for the info. So long the A400M keeps its ads-b on we have a long shot in seeing it in WBKK, you have a better chance than us to spot it when it heads over here!
  3. RBA's fleet of A343. B744 and sometimes the B763 does come over to TWU, SDK, BKI, LBU and MYY to do touch and go. Hoping to see RMAF A400M in BKI myself... only time will tell when that will happen.
  4. oh wow. I know airfast did send PK-OCT to here before so no surprises to see PK-OCR. Nice to see it's twin otter though!
  5. yes, some A320s (and B738) are not equipped with ADS-B, they are in a minority though a number of them exist. MAs have 2 B738 that does not show on FR24 - 9M-MLK & 9M-FFE as far as I am aware.. Listening to airband is perhaps easier to catch who is coming and going. MLAT5 is showing non ads-b traffics a little for high levels (FL>300) above WBKK and to the South around the Kalimantan-Brunei-Sabah-Sarawak border. If anyone has contacts at Kudat/Kota Marudu and also anyone in KK with a good view of the sky please share with them about FR24 and their kit - hoping to improve ads-b & MLAT5 coverage. Can contact me if there is any questions.
  6. dark skies on one side... bit rainny in Kuching lately? On another note, a second FR24 receiver based around in Kuching should be coming online in the next few days. Don't know what the coverage will be like though, hope it increases coverage towards the sea.
  7. and she has departed to WBKW, trackable on FR24. I think I heard passengers on board is 5, if I hear it correctly.
  8. Operated by Germany based K5 Aviation. http://www.k5-aviation.com/en/home.html D-ALXX Airbus ACJ319 Corporate Jet, seats 18.
  9. Ah.. weird info indeed but it seems to fit to explain why we don't see MasWIng's AT76 MYA, MYB & MYC. Hope the paperwork will be sorted out soon and see them back flying.
  10. There should be. If not there will not be talks for Air Asia to move from T2 to T1. No one knows when this will happen still... From WBKK AIP the total bays in T1 (not all has aerobridge) is 31. Bay1 is used normally for Mas Kargo. There should be at least 20 bays that can accommodate A320/B738. I think Air Asia has about 5 to 7 A320 based in WBKK so shouldn't be a problem. WBKK T2 has 9 bays. I don't think Air Asia uses all 9, normally there is a Gading Sari Aviation B734 and sometimes Transmile's Air B727 (noisy aircraft!). As for those stickers for counters near Mc Donald, just like Alif said, it has been reserved for Air Asia for years... we just ignore it now.
  11. yesterday's news - no. source: http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2015/03/16/A400M-joins-RMAFs-fleet/
  12. sure is developing very fast out of nowehere... this FlyMojo. I wonder what they are plotting... we shall see when they get their planes and when they start operations I guess.
  13. RMAF's first A400M M54-01 is now handed to Malaysia and it is trackable via ads-b so will show on FR24 (for now) so hopefully when it comes over to Labuan Air Base it will also visit WBKK. Being on FR24 makes it easier to track so hopefully they keep that ads-b on as long as possible! It departed from SZB and headed to LGK and made a quite a number of holding patterns then landed at LGK. Now has departed LGK and heading back to SZB., I think.
  14. is it still around? I thought it already left KK and head to Subang. Finally you get good pics of it
  15. hopefully tomorrow? All her activities has been in the morning, early morning.
  16. Hi Waiping, from the radio I can confirm 2 made contact with WBKK ATC for the low pass. Must be quite a sight to see all of them at their Labuan Airbase indeed. We should be proud of them doing a challenging job, and flying an expensive plane well.
  17. It definitely is hard to shoot the plane as it parked in the far end of T1. Guards around the entrance. When it came from Subang I went to see it from Jln Selangor, hoping it will do like MasWings ATRs landing and taxi via Golf, instead it landed and taxied to Juliet. I was like what!? I was totally caught out. and I didn't bring my binoculars. Lesson learnt.
  18. doesn't sound right. I think atc suggests offshore. based on altitude of flight. Might be a different project they are contracted to.
  19. I stand corrected, if the information is still up to date, apparently the BT-76/DC3 is here to do something ONshore with their Full Tensor Gradiometry equipment. http://bellgeo.com/petronas-malaysia/
  20. After some digging I found some info about the plane: C-FTGI is a Basler BT-67, originally a DC-3 built in 1944 but modified and modernized by Basler Turbo in 2008. http://www.aerocanada.com/bt-67/c-ftgi/Airborne%20Survey%20Aircraft%20BT-67%20C-FTGI.htm Legendary... isn't it? It's so much older than us and still flying up into the skies. A bit more about the plane here: http://bellgeo.com/basler-turbo-67s/ So maybe something to do with offshore oil exploration over here. ** the BT-67 we saw in WBKK is Reg C-FTGX not C-FTGI. ** Inside of the plane: http://www.aerocanada.com/bt-67/c-ftgx/index.html By the way Waiping, she's back at the far end of terminal one.
  21. oh no. Totally irresponsible. This isn't something to brag about. Better notify DCA/Police asap and like waiping said spotters might be prohibited near the airport perimeter because of such incident.
  22. ok thanks Waiping. I was able to listen to them on radio, great catch and thanks for the info. Not easy indeed to get good pics for the MiGs. Oh yes S V Choong, see previous page (page 2,lowest part) for info according to Zamir it appears at Subang and KK airport a few times already apparently. Canadian reg plane. No idea what it is doing. Has been parking there since Friday 20/2/15 I believe. It's small, had a look of it from Terminal 1 but view was limited.
  23. Hi Waiping, did the MiGs did a low level pass/touch and go and then did another circuit? That is what I heard from the radio. By the way I think the AirAsia pilot sure had fun saying lineup behind the departing MiG lol. Not something you can say often. Must be super cool for you to see them in real action! I am so jealous.
  24. ultra rare indeed! what a catch! What time did you hear time? from the liveatc feed?
  25. wow what a catch Waiping. I wonder whether it came from USS Bonhomme Richard but would have thought she has disembarked from Sepanggar RMN base. On another note, with the arrival of a FR24 receiver in Miri there is some Multilateralization (MLAT) fix on non ads-b aicrafts around Sabah/Kalimantan area at high FLs. It is only a very small coverage area as there is a lack of good overlapping coverage of receivers around here, so only those at cruising levels can be detected. No joy for the AT75s or twin otters. A few more receivers not far from KK is needed I think to make that happen. Please see photo attached.
