  1. Gorgeous! Today's daily express also reported of her brief stop at BKI, with those petronas oil drums in front of her as well as the pilots and ground handlers. Nice ad for Aeropod behind Jahur haha. What happened to the 02 equipment? No wonder 20 is in use, that got me puzzled as the wind was predominantly WNW or westerly these days.
  2. Sibu Airport expected to reopen only at noon Monday. source: http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017/04/09/sibu-airport-delay-operations/
  3. luckily you didnt go spotting today... with the rain now...
  4. Reminds me of a line in Captain Lim's book Life in The Skies : Better be late than 'dead on time'. Though in your case you are already diverting. Ask any housewive and they will agree. Apa cuaca ni? Hujan jap terang jap, hujan balik. Bah... malas mo jemur baju sudah. bikin panas ja. I think that's what they mean Alif, they didn't mean to put it harshly.
  5. Those four bars (and three) are indeed very heavy responsibility. Though as humans are, everyone, and pilots too, have their own personality and style. And indeed, circumstances changes very quickly and it is very fluid weather wise. At BKI sometimes the weather clears a bit and the first plane landed but then the weather takes a turn and the next approaching aircraft have to perform abort landing and do a go around.
  6. Annoyingly/sadly there isn't an ADS-B receiver (FR24 etc) showing ground traffic for Sibu, so the only data available is the descend until 6500ft at FR24. Glad no casualties. MXX is only 2 years young. Hope they will get her back to air soon.
  7. good shots... and I like the livery.
  8. Wow.. fab pic! ei? How come Mt K looks so big from the picture? Must be a perspective issue. When see Mt K from T1 it doesn't look that big compared to the pic. Maybe A319 suffice for this route. Let's see how long it can go for.
  9. Poor load indeed. Need to do more sales & promotion related activities.
  10. According to this report 6 for 2018 and a further 6 for 2019 http://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2017/03/23/malaysia-airlines-seeks-new-widebody-planes-as-jets-fill-up/

  12. Equipment upgrade for Jin Air, B772 HL7733 descending to BKI as of now. Alas, we can never get them in daylight.
  13. Yup, she does. When I looked up on FR24 her livery does indeed looks special. Great that you got it.
  14. She (B54111) is still at T2. Saw her just now when driving past BKI.
  15. We have a visitor A319-115ACJ Reg B54111 from TSA at T2 Bay 28 (I overheard from liveatc) arriving around 1730 when it was raining. Not sure how long it will be here though.
  16. Those glasses are definitely an eye sore. Wonder whether they will take them down when inline baggage screening is implemented... we shall see.
  17. China Southern is operating a 2 daily flight to BKI from CAN. CZ8335 CAN1410 - BKI1730 A321 CZ8483 CAN2305 - BKI0230 A320 FR24 data plus also on routesonline. Xiamen Air is also scheduled, 3 weekly flights to BKI from FOC. MF8019 FOC1400 – 1735BKI 738 146
  18. It's announced. US$13.8bil Boeing order for 20 777-9s and 19 787-10s, with options for six more of each aircraft, bringing the total to 51 if exercised. Source: http://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2017/02/09/singapore-airlines-to-buy-39-boeing-planes-worth-us$13pt8bil/
  19. yay! finally BKI 2017 thread has started!
  20. Well... at least they seems to be planning for the long term. But yes, there should be ways to maximize existing capacities. I really do hope they keep BKI at where it is. We certainly prefer an airport that is close to the city! I am sure tourists do too. The Tg Aru redevelopment plan to me has limited the airport's extension towards the sea, which to me is very annoying and lack of foresight for airport expansion.
  21. thanks for the heads up Jahur! Hopefully can go and see the bird.
  22. Spot on. All the metal goes to China. And perhaps the Koreans, like Japanese prefer to travel on their own korean airlines.
