  1. Ryan, maybe you can try Senai-Penang flights in the evenings if you are very desperate to go up North..hehe.. 2hr flight time frm Johor.
  2. looks like those optics light deco (not sure what's its exactly called) where the light glows brighter at the end.. before that it was hanged loosely downwards, just like short and white fishing lines. then they pulled it up to it's postion and looked nice now..
  3. UNCONFIRMED source that aircraft arriving at 3pm tomorrow, at hangar, and wont be at Terminal 3. I just saja-saja ask, and that's the answer i get.
  4. Fitri, I'm speechless man... Thanks for those good shots.
  5. Yea Liam, Thought i would see a formation of it but sadly he's ''on its own''. And i'll be dissapointed if i miss the fuel dump too if he's doing any. The Royal Australian Air Force is a frequent visitor to Malaysia, in fact they use to have a base here before, Seth. So.. its a big possibility its the RAAF's that flew past. This Aadvark sounded like the usual sounds we get from the F-18s, Nizam. At first i was expecting to see maybe 2 Hornets, but it suprised me with F-111. But Thank goodness i had time to sprint to my camera.. Cheers people!
  6. Does that mean that 737's Take-off Performance is better than A320's?
  7. You're Welcome, Teoh. Yes it seems to be a Non-hostile ones, must be Aadvark of RAAF, because the Hawk that followed it had no weapons on it...only 2 external fuel tanks... Sadly Penang welcomes our guest with grey overcast skies with Cb clouds everywhere.. Cheers
  8. Hi all, Spotted at 1530 this afternoon when i was around Georgetown, flying an East-to-West direction. A moment later one of our TUDM Hawk flew over, same direction. Friends from Australia? Or SU-24 which is intercepted by Hawks? Hope these provide some information for those who want to catch it. Sorry for quality...shaky hands. Thanks.
  9. Was reading the Chinese newspapers this morning and it said the rear control surfaces had some problems after take off that made the pilot to do an emergency landing. and it also said that there are 2 Chinese pilots. story is a bit different from the Star. wonder what did the reporters actually know about the incident... Anyway, good to hear that both pilots got out unhurt. Anyone recommending any good tukang urut for Mr.Attan? Have a good rest.
  10. Raj, be careful of those Avsec. Some of them are okay some of them are nasty. i only been close to the fence twice. once got chased out because me and 2 other friends were spotted by the AirNZ staff in the building. the other time i just stay in the car until there's a plane coming, then have the correct setting, get out, lens near the broken fence hole, shoot it, run back to car. Cameras are there, and there are people constantly monitoring them all. Just understand them, coz they have a job to do, so they cant afford to think that people with cameras are not possible threats. Anyway just don't let them blacklist you. Otherwise u'll be having lots of attention when u come back to Malaysia by the way, gd shots, keep it up, u're getting better.
  11. Raj, the lower and the upper scenic lookout areas are the new ones...if u come from Manukau, on Puhinui Rd, when u see the sign that brown ''scenic lookout area 200m on left'' sign, just immediately behind that sign post, look for a narrow little road on your left. the road has a lot of potholes because it not maintained anymore, but the rubbish bins are still there. it's elevated, so it's slightly higher than Puhinui road.
  12. raj, have u been to the old scenic lookout area? wonder if you will be able to get right under the planes for some belly shots... winter's coming so hopefully u can get some pics with those trails/condensations or "special effects"( dnt know the proper term lah...sorry) btw, nice pics...especially the bigbird n small bird ones... and i wish i was there when Atlas did the go-around.
  13. usually worn by middle-aged persons so that they get better grip on controls. i was told that mostly their palms doesnt sweat enough therefore no moisture to create grip, that's why the gloves come in handy.
  14. a crap shot here... AvSec was around so didn't go near the fence to get better view. anyway, here it is. 31stDEC afternoon viewed frm the observation area. Signboard of Air New Zealand Engineering on far right.
  15. it's a 747. Saw it today (30DEC about 1700NZDT, 1200MYST) parked in Air New Zealand Engineering Hangar. Was suprised to see it. Parked in the Hangar with a bit of angle too, tail sticking out. I was too far away to see the rego. and didn't have my camera at that time...(damn).
