  1. Had been asked to switched off cam and phone many times, on varous airlines, even on ground while a/c is still at the gate. When the plane begins to be pushed back, I autonatically go on flight-mode. Sometimes I just hope that the flight attendants can be more polite when it comes to calling passerngers to turn off e devices; they can be quite rude and inconsiderate. I do think it all boils down to simplicity--some devices may interfere with flight essentials, of huge or little significance, but to prohibit ALL electronic devices turned on in flight makes life simple as flee suggested. One more disheartening aspect is the prohibition of photography on the apron (while boarding or alighting)--the recent misleading Air Asia X commercial indicates otherwise.
  2. Changi has such wonderful--and dense--traffic!
  3. That's so true. They are "rumors" after all. Remember the denial about the previous election date? Haa...
  4. Except for having to purchase foods and drinks, I found flights on D7 very enjoyable. I would choose to fly on D7 again in place of MH or other airlines to Europe, etc. The reason is that even full fledge airlines are only a little better than D7 in terms of service and the fare is substantially higher. Scraping the routes to LGW and Orly would be a loss to me (provided there's no fare height).
  5. Umm... Good for FedEx & Boeing...
  6. I think call center that runs (24/7) is important, albeit costly, as assistance can mean making or losing customers/business. It was fortunate that HK Air Asia call center was able to assist me thoroughly when I was put on hold for long minutes by the KL call center last month. My call pertained to online check-in and without the assist of call centers, it would have been a very troublesome task to get the check-in done. I am not sure how effective the online helpdesk is, but if it's good then definitely call centers can be shut down. By the way, since TF is talking about call centers for sales, then I concur with Naim that online sales is the way (with the help of a call center/online helpdesk whenever necessary).
  7. Thanks, Andrew! They're of interest to me. A month ago I went scouting at SZB; yesterday I went scouting there again. The two green 747 were there on both visits and I have been wondering who they were. Now I know. Also of interest is the inside of the apron/hangar. Nice to see what are inside. By the way, I miss Thomas Cook. Used to see you guys at Manchester Ringway AVP. Is your A330 here for refurbishment (I kinda missed what's mentioned above)?
  8. A gust that blows it sideways as I see it. Clearly, there the plane pitched up a few seconds after the nosewheels had touched down though. Again, the S-drift really isn't obvious in this video.
  9. I think the bio-something design sounds good and comfortable. Is this kind of design proven tp be as useful and comfortable as claimed? The casual outfit is casual indeed. Weekend flights is ok. But, yes, keep those tight weekdays outfit.
  10. Umm... So it was captured on video. In the video, the S-drift doesn't look that obvious.
  11. Indeed. I think Russian fighters are good looking. European fighter jets are hmm... US fighters are nice looking as well... Well, I'm just talking about nice looking-ness, so Russian jets are good options. :-)
  12. TPE on BR early next year! Yay! The old spot is famous for TW movie scenes. LOL
  13. All said, traffic to and out of SZB should be rectified! Without smooth traffic, there's not much point developing SZB.
  14. May he rest in peace. I remember watching the Red Arrows show at SZB in 2007, near the Airod hangar as well as in the AFB. There were so much activity going on in anticipation of LIMA '07 back then. Miss those good old days.
  15. Yeah, could have ended up like the MD-11 not too long ago! Jeez, my g/f was on this SQ flight back in June! It'd be interesting to read the investigation report. A source has that the T7 was back in the sky in no time though.
  16. Hahahaa... Really? Most aprons look small from terminal galleries and I always thought that this is just a matter of perspective. Could it be really small, providing just enough room for apron traffic? Probably giving a little more room to planes also mean giving more room for error. Nevertheless, this is costly I know. :-)
  17. Looks like a real nice clean beautiful drift. Man, was he trying to avoid a bird on the runway or something!
  18. Read the news on a local paper yesterday. Quite stunned with the news.
  19. Changi apron looks really small when viewed from the terminal gallery.
