  1. If he's serious about it, then the smart thing to do would be to develop under-utilised Alor Setar airport. It doesn't suffer from the constraints at Bayan Lepas and is well-connected enough by highways.

So this is nothing more than him trying to get the occasional quick political publicity, whatever the reason may be.

And to side track a bit, Bayan Lepas Airport and Subang Airport are very good reminders of poor planning and foresight with regards to Malaysia's major airports.

But then, how many projects or rather how many percentage of projects in Malaysia are well-planned and well executed?

  2.

Malaysia Airlines' aircraft are designed to withstand lightning strike and dissipate the electrical charges through the aircraft bonding system safety.

Safety and comfort of its passengers are of topmost priority to Malaysia Airlines.

Wonder which other airline's airplanes are also designed to withstand lightning strike. Very important... You don't wanna be on an airline whose planes are not protected from lightning strikes. I hope no such airlines operate in and out of the new KL airport KLIA2.

Plenty of repot palsu goes on every day in balai. One time - in blinding rain, a kancil hit a water puddle, sideswiped my car, spun around and got hit by a van, a lorry and another car in quick succession.

When I finally got the other reports: it went like this...

Nowhere in ANY of the 4 reports was the kancil hitting me first mentioned.........

Once few years ago a police sergeant forced me to accept a lobsided report by intimidation--raising his voice and shouting at me like a father shouting at his son not to try to explain yourself. (I look like a fledgling little bird.)

  4. Now that's confusing. So AK will operate in a CLOSED airport? (Need to use the right word otherwise might be slapped with a lawsuit later.)

I am confused. Where should one board one's AK flight on that day?

Very interesting, we will have an airport with 3 runways and 3 terminals... ;)

No, we have three airports (KLIA, LCCT, and KLIA2) sharing the same three runways, taxiways, ICAO code, SIDs, STARs, etc.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- The Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) will be closed by May 9, 2014 to facilitate the opening of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2), said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi.
He said klia2 was on track to be opened by May 2 with four airlines starting operations at the new airport.
"These airlines include Philippine-based Cebu Pacific, Indonesia-based Tigerair Mandala, Singapore-based Tiger Air and local hybrid airline, Malindo Air," he told reporters at Airport Cities World Conference and Exhibition 2014 here Tuesday.
He said the first flight would be at 12.30am by the low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific.
Aziz also said passenger targeted growth into Malaysia this year was 9.7 per cent and he was confident that it would be achievable despite the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 incident.
The two-day event is the global platform that provides thought leadership, best practice, innovation and high-level debate and discussion around the creation and development of airport cities.

I don't think I understand what an airport is now...
